What Is the Difference Between Highlands and Lowlands?
Gaelic became the sort of common folk language of the whole country. A different divide opened up that is still important to day. People in the highlands had to live mainly through animal husbandry, through grazing cattle and farming. Many people in the lowlands take up the eng language,. many still to this day, speak a regional dialect of middle english, called scots.
