"I wanted to show the hardship that was put on him, and i wanted to higlight, within that hardship, how he was able to fight against it," says artist. "The perseverance and fortitude that he showed and the strength that it took for him to fight for five years ... That was the real corps of my connection with calip and his story." The piece is made up of a six by eight solitary confinement cell as well as information about torture in America.
