The New Capitalist Regime in the Third World
Many of the ones who imposed austerity in the 19 eighties were democracies by that point. Even under democratic forms, the imposition of new liberal austerity and economic discipline is done with a lot of repression. But they're somehow, very often, able to get away with it, at least or for a while. And i guess it makes something like the pinne shekop in chile stand out, perhaps, maybe as an exception, oddly, because we etend to think of that as the beginning of new liberalism.
