If a Lion Could Talk, We Would Not Understand Him
Vickenstein looked beyond relationship between language and world to look at details of actual languages. Recognized that words had different functions, were more like tools. Language is woven into our practicesr our customs, the things that we do. If a lion could talk, we would not understand him. Why not? Because we don't share the form of life of the lion.
