The Destroyer of the Father Is a Strange Table

The destruction of the father is a strange tableau you just look at it frontally although it's three dimensional and what you're looking at is a sort of a low cave like a mouth or bodily orifice. so this is an early instance where she is really beginning to provide quite detailed and very kind of poetic creative accounts of why she's made the work that she's made. In 1989 in an interview she said I have three frames of reference they are my father and mother, my own experience and my children and I think this is a very interesting way that throughout the various other encounters that her work might relate to ultimately it's this tangled web of the family.
