What Is the Self?
Pasoa had over 70 heteronyms, characters with full biographies and histories. He would write from these different voices, but also the different characters. Both of your works raise questions about what is a self. When we say that the self is superimposed on the constituents, the question arises, who does the superimposing? It makes sense to understand it along the inds of a pilot and a flight simulator. From a range of perceptual imput our brain creates the image of the world in which the self operates. We cannot step outside of our brain, so we have no way of finding out what the world beyond the intial simulation is like to us. So thinking of final
