The first thing that I noticed in my meditation practice was that I actually became more focused. In news and meditation, what you're trained to do is your mind wanders, you notice you return. My entire day falls into almost like this ADD slash ADHD, esque, highly distractible. It feels as though two things, particularly meditation slash quiet time and exercise somehow train down my brain's distractibility.
