"I think there's a sense that practice ought to be about, like, releasing struggle," he says. "And so i think en a part part of this also, i think that's really fascinating to me." The process is the opposite its entering into conflict and harmonizing your mind with others' needs and wants - not absencing yourself from them. He adds: "You are the buddha mind. If you're just the background of all thoughts... You have to actually solve the koan".
