The first fossil evidence of a dinosaur that dug tunnels was found in southwest montanas, near the border with idaho. These would have been herbivorous dinosaurs that lived roughly ninedy something million years ago. The creature's snout, shoulder girdle and pelvis are consistent with digging habit.
