Congress Can't Regulate the Slave Trade Until 1808, Right?
Congress cannot regulate the slave trade until 1808. The problem of slavery was woven into the Constitution and the Southern States signed on because they got these three things, these three clauses. If we look at the slave population in the Southern States, it's actually sizable. And you can see how unintended consequences come flying in here. This is probably the worst case unintended consequence that I know of.
