Half time partner in my practice works 48 hours a week. There's no such thing as full time really and that's part of the problem. We have to be flexible. The whole system wasn't designed for working mothers. And finally, Zman Bauman talked about liquid modernity - people want much more solid lives yet we continue to think that they want concretized lives. Why are we not available yesterday? Because we're bloody well not available!
