Those Are the Strangest Sounds on a Chalkboard

Clip appears they have encountered what looks to be a chalk board covered with stuff. There's something that stood out to me here, which is that they're saying their names quite often. In the next sclip we receive, it appears that more time has passed. It seems strange, right, that they stop in the middle of running away.
