The Evolution of Scientific Management in the 20th Century

The first large scale diffusion happened in 1903 when Nathator presented the first paper at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers annual conference. In 1910, an interstate commerce commission earring argued that the US railroads could have saved up to $1 million a day if they introduced the scientific management principle. So somehow, despite all this resistance both from workers and some of the people who employed him, this method ends up becoming a movement.
