The policy is sold to American liberals and moderates by basically saying the only way to liberate black Africans is to improve their economic outcomes through trade. The argument here is that like we can't sanction South Africa and Rhodesia because it'll hurt black people. It's a little more nuanced than that by not by a lot. Not much. We just changed it to tech essentially. Yeah. To his credit, when Nixon is out and Ford is in Kissinger kills the racial slur option and he authorals a new plan which is focused on spirited opposition to white minority rule in Rhodesia.
