At the age of four and a half, i was confronted with my brother's fractured skull. He looked for all the world er like my same old brother, apart from the fact that he had to wear a helmet to protect his fractured skull. And it was the most uncanny experience. It then became the central, er, er, preoccupation of my intellectual life. I trained in the field of neuro psychology. Neuro psychology is admirable, but it excludes the psyche. It excludes the experiencing, active, living eye. The human being is first and last active, a subject, not an object. Captured exactly.
