The Importance of Principles in Agility

I think the idea of principles to me is their guidelines. They're sort of a pattern language as opposed to dogma. And I'm trying to keep away from dogma because one of the most important things about agility is being able to be flexible even in your mind. The more you think you know about a situation, the more likely you are to do extreme harm and be totally wrong. We all walk around with mental models about how things work and why they work. But especially when you're entering into sort of unknown or complex situations, you want to put your models in play.
