What Is Section 230?

In 1995, Congress rewrote the telecommunications law for the first time in 60 years. The Communications Decency Act made it illegal to knowingly send or show minors in decent content online. Section 230 says that if you're an interactive computer service provider, you won't be treated as the publisher of content someone else provides.
