Chisholm Summary - Philistines in Canaan
In about 1200 BC, a coalition of the Sea Peoples invaded Canaan. Ram sees the third who was able to prevent them from conquering Egypt. Philistines were already present in Canaan in the time of the patriarchs. Major conflicts between the Philistines and Israel continued during the days of Samuel, Saul, and David covering roughly 1130 to 970 BC.
