Theology: A Detachment Between Holiness and the Intellect
To be a theologian is not to be a detached observer of an empirical phenomenon, but it's to be a participant in the very mysteries of god as they've been communicated and then enacted. The idea so many of the great intellects of the ancient medieval Church we call saint. Yes, and plenty of modern theologians have noted that that's not always the case anymore.
