The practice is called self distancing, or it's kind of part of this cognitive behavioral therapy. You distance yourself from your thoughts and so then you're kind of like taking a step away. It's not something that you just go, oh, look, I'm feeling angry. Look at you, anger. Or I'm feeling scared. Oh my God, I should be scared. I'm just going to think different. But yes, it's definitely having the distance and having the perspective"
