The 118th Street Task Force was assembled to investigate the serial killings. The victims disappeared between 2003 and 2005 so they were able to access satellite photos of the area taken in 2002. They showed tyre marks leading to bear spots which police determined to be graves. In 2005 the photos showed the tyre tracks again and even more bear spots.
