Clarence Thomas' autobiography leaves out the violence that surrounded his first-ever protest. He says he found himself chanting pro-Vietcon slogans and demanding freedom for Angela Davis. The way he tells it, in his memoir and in speeches, that night was a breaking point. If we could be cured of our sleeve mentality, we would realize that just as the white man can do these things for himself and his kind, we can get together in unity and harmony.
