The Cross Chatter Between Justice Thomas and Justice Sotomayor
Justice Sotomayor says the court cements a superficial rule of color blindness as a constitutional principle in an endemicly segregated society where race has always mattered and continues to matter. Justice Thomas basically calls Justice Jackson out as quote unquote race obsessed but this actually feels a little bit like projection right he says at one point this lore I the idea that race continues to matter is not and has never been true even in the segregated South Where I grew up individuals were not the sum of their skin color end quote.
