Plate tetonics was not accepted by most geologists until the 1960s. The theory is so elegantly simple that it can explain almost everything, including why we have hot spots in our planet called thunder heads of the mantele. It's just like someone gave us a rosetta stone. And i was lucky to be in that anguard of students who got this new way of looking at the world. But i had a problem. Half my thesis committee didn't believe in it, and the other half believed in it. And my job was to get them to fight and get the fighting away from me.
