Imogene has never explicitly said what this song is about, but it sort of understood to be about her parents separating. The end phrase of this chorus is just another d major nine, walking down in the same way, only this time it ends on an asus, which is setting up the next verse. When i hear these lyrics, crop circles in the carpet, oily spots on walls, it's kind of this memory of a place and of a time that's lost. There's a really profound sadness to this song. And even though i don't know specifically what it's about, for me, it's just about someone whois alone, reflecting on the people who've left them
