Is There a Sweet Spot in Adult Magic Tricks?

There's definitely a point in our development where our models of the world are extremely inaccurate. But then it, it seems like maybe there's a sweet spot. We haven't done it ourselves yet, but if you ask magicians, the consensus seems to be that children become good audience members around the age of five, six years old. When you now watch magic knowing what you know, is it more clear to you what's going on? Are there any tricks that truly still stump you?
