Is It the End of Empire or a Fascist State?
Is this the emergence of independent sovereign nation states that really have to be quite bullish to ensure they're sovereign independence in a world of great powers? Is some of that driven by a colonial legacy? I mean, you look at some of the ways in which Iraq or Iran were tapped for their resources. This is something that is a lesson from history, a lesson that if you don't become bullish or bellicose, then you will be overridden. And so these states, I think, start to show a lot of initiative to actually use their resources in this manner.
