The Role of Biosecurity in Invasive Species
Hogweed is the one that kills you if you touch it, right? I don't think it kills you. It's a problem. They tried to eradicate it from the U.S., but there's like three plants outside of the Israeli embassy that they have not been able to kill yet. And then we don't pay attention to these non-native plants until they become a problem. So with spiraling and fly, we knew about it when it showed up in the Port of Philadelphia. We just didn't do anything.
