The Assassination of Caesar

The assassins saw themselves as liberators. Caesar had made the connection in his family back to the goddess Venus. So this was really quite a frenzied, maybe panicked attack. It's likely that they were just disillusioned with Caesar. They weren't getting what they thought they would out of him.
