God Favors the Righteous
The only reason they were driven out was because of their wickedness. And if they hade been righteous, they would have been permitted to stay. God is no respecter of persons. He treats everyone equally. Why is there a promised land promised to certain people? It's because the righteous are favored of god. That doesn't mean he loves them more, but it does mean he's permitted to bless them. I need to qualify myself for those blessings by keeping the commandments of god. None of us deserve the promised land; none of us have earned heaven. But as we are trying to learn heaven, hopefully we're in a place where god can give it to us.
