The Importance of Collective Emotions

The idea that when people get together they become more emotional is kind of one of the foundations of social sciences. We think of Hegelian philosophy that has conceptualized this idea and Le Bon and Durkheim's ideas of rituals and collective gatherings. And the idea is that not only when we get together our emotions tend to amplify, but also it's really useful for our well-being to experience emotions with other people.
