The Infectious Differential Between HIV and Doxycycline

A 45 year old patient known history of HIV on a stable anti retroviral regimen and appears to be very well controlled HIV undetectable viral load. With a month of fairly nonspecific symptoms, malays and fatigue, and then more acutely this rash that has popped up. In addition, this patient has noted some spontaneous signs of bleeding. And then we have a exposure to a drug, doxycycline, and then no improvement with doxy cycline.
