Death by Hanging

These were military men and like the thing they wanted to protect above everything else was their military honor. They protested hugely against the fact that they were going to be executed by hanging. Garing repeatedly said that he was willing to be shot. He had no problem with a soldier's death, but he thought that hanging was the worst thing they could do to a soldier.
