The Surreal Mind and the Allison Wonderland Technique

I think that's what Lynch is getting at. The surreal as an angle is worth pursuing a little further here too. We kind of get this in season three of Twin Peaks where when Cooper goes into the mob zone or wherever he is and he's talking to the giant. There's this film projector that's sort of playing, you know, the life of Laura Palmer or whatever it's doing. And there's a guy named Milton Erickson who specifically advocated using confusion to bypass the critical factor in the conscious mind.
