The Proverb Curious Kills the Cat

The proverb "care killed the cat" is said to have come from a Renaissance fable. The author has no idea where it came from, but says he can hear his grandmother's voice telling him not to eat sapote when he was a kid. Scholars believe that care switched to curiosity in later versions of the story.
