How to Pitch Ideas to Writers
I tend to try not to pitch by email very much. Email's such a dysfunctional mode of communication, I think. It's because it's so ignoreable and people get so much of it. People who are 10 years younger than me, they think I'm a psychopath. Because I work on the basis that a meeting is better than a phone call,. A phone call is better than an email, a new email is better than whatever. You know, part of the trick with reporting is that what you want when you're in the last three weeks of a piece is a situation where you could call any of your sources that have helped you.
