Is De Growth a Good Idea?
Mark Whitaker: De growth is usually how I hear these days that this kind of overall view summed up, you know, the main job we have is not building new systems. It's deconstructing existing ones and turning to a smaller scale of life. He says it can certainly serve a purpose when you're living in a wealthy nation and you can downsize. But he doesn't think it's a recipe that will be very appealing to many people - especially those who live in poor countries.
