The Pancake Theory of the Universe

Physicists were arguing over whether the universe started with a big bang or if it was constantly being made in this steady state. They didn't like the idea of a beginning, so they preferred to think there had always been one. The pancake theory is that even though your pancakes are dribbling off the edges, you're keeping the same amount of syrup on top of them.
