The Tripping of the Temple Veil, Jesus' Death

There's a little bit of ambiguity here. There were lots of bales in the temple. So we don't know for sure which veil this was, although it seems likely it's the veil that separates the holy place and the holy of holies. And then we read that the tombs were opened. This is only in Matthew's gospel. Because it's a great earthquake. The rocks are split. Many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep are raised. Coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. It anticipates what is going to happen at the end of time. The righteous will be raised from the dead.
