Don't Throw Your Pearls Before a Pig

Don't throw your pearls before swine, or they'll trample them under their feet. A pearl has no nutritional value for a pig. To put something of value before something that cannot appreciate it will inevitably create resentment towards you and your giving of something valuable. So jesus is actually doing is the earlier section is about shame and judgment. And so he speaks of how we sometimes use shame and judgment to control other people. But then much harder to spot, and i would argue that creates even more resentment and violence.
