What Is the Secret of the Internet?
Auction web was a site where people could come together and buy and sell goods on the internet, specifically through auctions. i argue in the book that amidar kind of happened upon this very lucrative innovation - how to apply the essentially social nature of the internet for the purposes of profit making. It's one of the few companies in this nineties do con that is making a lot of money. We're trying to think through it as a feudal system; we've had here discussions about the limits of other metaphors ectee use to discuss platforms.
