Brits in particular are very sensitive to this stuff because our mortgages roll over every couple of years as a rule. The cost of borrowing has gone up enormously, whether that is for a home or any other standard loan. A lot is hinging on central bank's ability to get inflation down. If things calm down, I would expect the central banks to go right back to raising rates.
