I started studying status in 1994, the first year I went to graduate school at the University of Iowa. There was a lot of research being published in our top journals on status at that time. But you know, at this point, we know a lot about how it works. You know, most of us have an intuitive understanding of what status is. Most of us have a sense of how much we value it.
