Is There a Miracle?

A wise man proportions his belief to the evidence, he says. In such conclusions as are founded on an infallible experience. He expects the event with the last degree of assurance and regards his past experience as a full proof of the future existence of that event. Nothing is esteemed a miracle if it ever happen in the common course of nature. There must therefore be a uniform experience against every miraculous event,. otherwise the event would not merit that appellation.
