YouTuber Series Review - Shane Dawson and Jeffrey Star
Shane Dawson was known as the king of YouTube for over a decade by this point and had become known for covering internet conspiracy theories. In 2019, he decided to make a documentary series with Jeffrey Star, exploring how Jeffrey's public persona had evolved since his days as a myspace famous musician to becoming a millionaire makeup mogul. They together released branded merchandise, they collabed on sponsored content, and even got to work on a bespoke makeup line under the Jeffrey Star brand. This was a combining of two otherwise disparate corners of YouTube, right? Shane Dawson was into conspiracy theories. Jeffrey Star was in the makeup space. Together, they harnessed their influence for huge monetary gain.
