In 1889, even fingerprints weren't being widely used. The only two people who were in the house that we know of are a woman and someone who could be a nine-year-old all the way up to a 14 year old. And what Nelly says is that she never heard a gunshot. It's an age range from 9 to 14. That's a pretty big range when you're talking about some man at the bottom of a stairs dead. So it's now assessing all of those characteristics in this potential witness.
