Nicholas Oroni is Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Queensland. In 2017, he was appointed by then Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to advise on whether Australian law adequately protects religious freedom. He's been researching the much-discussed proposal for an indigenous voice to Parliament. We'll be talking about that today, but more in the context of trying to unpack what is a constitution and how did we get ours.
