The Metaphysical Comfort of Nietzsche's Greek Alchemy
Schopenhauer said man had a metaphysical need. This is idea that goes back a long way, certainly emphasized by Kant as well. But he's thinking about it in terms of a metaphysical comfort. It's in order to justify living and continue living. And then finally, one of the most interesting ideas, I would say, that is worth holding on to is music as the closest representation of the will - therefore the ultimate ground of reality.
