What Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and it's one of our main treatment forms. CBT grew up in reaction to the earliest talk therapies, which come out of a Freudian tradition. DBT is when you cannot regulate emotions. It can go really long way in helping people manage depression. And so if you have a kid where really DBT would be really probably the better option and you go to someone who specializes in talk therapy,. they may get talk therapy when that's not really the best choice for them.
