How Many Hours Does It Take to Make a Friend?

There's almost a linear relationship between how much time people spend together and how long it takes for them to call each other a close friend. It's like once you reach a certain hour milestone, that's when you consider it. After about 40 hours together, now about 10, 12% of people consider each other good friends. And by the time you spend 650 hours together, if you're not a classmate, there's either you have moved from acquaintance into friendship category or you're still in the coworker category.
